Chapter 11; Video/Filtered Video to Karkat

[[The feed flicks on to a view of four Pokemon. The first three are likely familiar to anyone who knows their trainer.

An all-too-cool Wooper, who currently seems rather put out and a little scratched up.
A primping and preening Pidgey, who seems quite proud of itself.
And a rather irritated looking Eevee, ruffled somewhat and glaring in the aforementioned Wooper's direction.
The fourth Pokemon, sitting quietly and watching the three with interest, is a Mareep.

From off camera comes the voice to confirm that yes, this is indeed Rose's team.]]

I am pleased to say we are finally making progress in level. Surprisingly, Dave has been putting forth a great deal of effort into his training. I am unsure as to why, but not complaining.

Pilcrow, the Pidgey you see before you, has also gained a few levels of her own. Guillemot has earned the most, however. I am highly proud of her. I also have a new addition, of whom I have just caught. Halos the Mareep. He is quite the energetic one, and I am sure he will make an excellent addition to my team.

[[And now you get a view of the girl, who looks like she's recovering from a cold.]]

I have doubts of challenging the gym here before we leave, but I suppose that is not my duty as a breeder anyway, is it?

...Karkat. Would I be able to ask a favor of you? It concerns living arrangements, as I have been unable to work for the past week due to both my illness and the incident with Dave, and therefor can no longer afford room and board.

Of course I intend to find work as soon as possible, but until then I have no where to stay...

[The Glameow purrs quite contently at that, snuggling in against Rose. Karkat meanwhile scritches Guile behind the ears, namely as a way of distracting himself. But he doesn't pull away from Rose, nor shove her out of leaning against him.]

So if you're going to do any prying today about shit, you may as well get it out of the way now, while I still feel like putting up with your snarky horseshit.

Didn't I ever say that before? Jegus, tell me you seriously haven't gone this whole time not knowing what we looked like.

Just--imagine me with grey skin, pointy teeth, yellow instead of white in my eyes, and yeah, horns. Awesome horns. Mine were the best.

Awesome horns does not quite give me a good enough description. Were they longer? Shorter? Did the curl much akin to a ram's horns?

Yes, exactly. Big long curling ones that got in the way of shit, but they were cool. Best fucking horns ever; everyone was jealous.

But. If they got in the way of everything, wouldn't they be hard to lead with?

I am not sure if I find large horns very impressive, myself.

You don't even come from a species that has horns. You don't understand the cultural expectations about them.

That may be, but animals all around us do have horns.

And I personally never found the larger ones impressive.

I was simply requesting for more details, and giving you examples of the kinds of details I was looking for. Not necessarily the kinds I am impressed by.

Horns are fucking stupid anyway and people put too much value in them and it's annoying so shut up.

If it's any consolation, I think you are fine without them. I realize I am a human, and therefor might be biased, but it is the same as judging a person simply because they are shorter or taller. Or because they have blond hair, or brown.

It is silly, stereotypical, and pointless.

[Karkat grumbles some, fidgeting where he sits, before finally-]
