Chapter 11; Video/Filtered Video to Karkat

[[The feed flicks on to a view of four Pokemon. The first three are likely familiar to anyone who knows their trainer.

An all-too-cool Wooper, who currently seems rather put out and a little scratched up.
A primping and preening Pidgey, who seems quite proud of itself.
And a rather irritated looking Eevee, ruffled somewhat and glaring in the aforementioned Wooper's direction.
The fourth Pokemon, sitting quietly and watching the three with interest, is a Mareep.

From off camera comes the voice to confirm that yes, this is indeed Rose's team.]]

I am pleased to say we are finally making progress in level. Surprisingly, Dave has been putting forth a great deal of effort into his training. I am unsure as to why, but not complaining.

Pilcrow, the Pidgey you see before you, has also gained a few levels of her own. Guillemot has earned the most, however. I am highly proud of her. I also have a new addition, of whom I have just caught. Halos the Mareep. He is quite the energetic one, and I am sure he will make an excellent addition to my team.

[[And now you get a view of the girl, who looks like she's recovering from a cold.]]

I have doubts of challenging the gym here before we leave, but I suppose that is not my duty as a breeder anyway, is it?

...Karkat. Would I be able to ask a favor of you? It concerns living arrangements, as I have been unable to work for the past week due to both my illness and the incident with Dave, and therefor can no longer afford room and board.

Of course I intend to find work as soon as possible, but until then I have no where to stay...

From the description on the back, this one is sounds as though it will be good. Even if the lead role's actress isn't one of my favorites.

[[And soon back in her seat, leaning up against Karkat and using the remote to play the movie.]]

[Karkat shrugs, and tolerates her leaning once she sits back down.]

Things like that just make good fodder for other interpretations. Like in the one before this. If the actor tries to fill a role a certain way, it gives rise to different ways the scenario would go. It's a good way to make up for the lack of other quadrants, like I said.

Oh no, I know. I simply do not like her in general. Not so much her acting, as she truly is not that bad, but the woman herself.

However, I will look at it differently and see if that helps any.

What about her? Because I know there's actors I like or hate more than others.

She is simply a distasteful woman. Completely fake, everywhere she goes, and it is so obvious it's almost sickening. She may be a talented actress on the screen, but she is terrible at hiding who she is in real life.

Huh. I admit I'm not as familiar with human actors, but there are some troll ones I know like that.

Really I've only recently shown interest in knowing whom is on the screen, and this mostly stems from the fact that some actors just simply do not pull their roles off well enough, and I've curiosity in knowing whom they are and what other sorts of roles they've played.

Which troll actors do you like...or dislike, for that matter. If you don't mind my inquiring about them.

There's this one movie, it's not very good, but it has Troll Sandler in it, and he doesn't piss me off at all in that one. Like at all. But then, I haven't seen a whole lot of his stuff, so maybe it's just part of the role he had.

Troll Will Smith, though, he's great. He's in one of my favorite movies, and he was in Thresh Prince of Bel-Air, too - that's where Homes gets his name. From thew themesong. He's a great actor, and he just seems like a really cool guy.

Can't think of any ones I specifically dislike off the top of my head right now. Maybe if I could go back and see some of the movies I used to have... but that's pretty much fucking impossible at this juncture.

[[She raises a brow at those names, wondering if they've anything in common with Human Sandler or Smith, but doesn't ask.]]

I wish there was a way you could. I would be more than delighted to watch a few of your movies.

I wish I could show you them. You're actually interest in troll romance, so if I had those, I could show you where I learned the bulk of what I know.

It's just more satisfying to actually see stories that revolve around the quadrants than try to imagine them into what-if scenarios for human movies.

I'm sure. I certainly wouldn't mind enjoying a few genuine kismesissitude stories. That quadrant honestly intrigues me the most.

Blackrom does confuse me more personally, so you can imagine I'd like to have them around for reference.

But it turns out me and Dave aren't the only ones with a kismesissitude around here, actually. Slick--well, the other half of that one isn't here, but from a talk I had with him before, apparently he's caliginous for Snowman - the Black Queen from our session.

This douchebag Izaya has a hatecrush on me, from what he said Valentine's Day. Even though I'm totally not interested.

Yes, I told him. Right then when he admitted it. He knows exactly how much I hate Dave, too.

But Slick--he was the Jack Noir of our session, but don't call him that or he'll probably want to stab you. Then again he might anyway; he's a stabby kind of guy. But anyway, I met him on my planet during Sgrub, and he's sort of like a mentor to me. I helped him exile the Black Queen, too. Dave called him my stabdad, since he stabbed me a few times before. He's cool, though.

Hm. Perhaps if you don't pay him attention, he will leave you alone eventually?

And...I am unsure if I would like to meet him or not now. I don't believe I would enjoy being stabbed. Though I am also intrigued to see whom you would call a mentor.

Pfft. He's an asshole; I doubt he will. He said he intends to 'have his fun' anyway, whatever that means.

I wish I was more help with such a situation, but I've personally never experienced it, so I can't say much...

Droog, though, he's cool. More level-headed than Slick - they're moirails, basically. Just don't joke about fashion with him; I got the feeling he'd hurt me if I didn't get that tie I did for that one suit.

Dave mentioned something about some bullshit comic involving them on Earth, but fuck if I know what that's about. Because, obviously, they're real, and if anything it sounds like some weird reflection back into your culture from the fact that we made your damn universe.

As for Droog, I would never mock fashion. As much as I am not one to bring harm to another over it, I can most certainly appreciate fine taste when it is presented to me.

Yeah, that little Deuce shit is part of their group too. And there's a Hearts Something, I'm sure, but I've never met him.

Fashion is stupid, though. The only reason I even bothered was because that event was supposedly going to be formal or whatever and I wanted to look nice.

Deuce is the one who was kind enough to purchase those DVDs for me.

And fashion has it's merits. I am not crazy for it, but I also am not opposed to indulging in it from time to time, depending upon the occasion.

...I've no idea if it's consolation, but I'm sorry you've so many friends sent back home.

I would like to meet Kanaya if she returns. I would like to meet all of your comrades, but if you say Kanaya is a flighty broad, my interest is piqued.

There's not really much that can be said for it, so let's just stop.

She's a weird one. I mean, she's my friend, and probably one of the saner ones out of anyone, but still. I've said before trolls are nocturnal, but she slept at night, and was the only one of us that could really stand the sun on Alternia - let alone the only one who liked it. She was into rainbow drinker novels, too.
