Chapter 11; Video/Filtered Video to Karkat
[[The feed flicks on to a view of four Pokemon. The first three are likely familiar to anyone who knows their trainer.
An all-too-cool Wooper, who currently seems rather put out and a little scratched up.
A primping and preening Pidgey, who seems quite proud of itself.
And a rather irritated looking Eevee, ruffled somewhat and glaring in the aforementioned Wooper's direction.
The fourth Pokemon, sitting quietly and watching the three with interest, is a Mareep.
From off camera comes the voice to confirm that yes, this is indeed Rose's team.]]
I am pleased to say we are finally making progress in level. Surprisingly, Dave has been putting forth a great deal of effort into his training. I am unsure as to why, but not complaining.
Woop!
That was a compliment. You should accept it as such.
Pilcrow, the Pidgey you see before you, has also gained a few levels of her own. Guillemot has earned the most, however. I am highly proud of her. I also have a new addition, of whom I have just caught. Halos the Mareep. He is quite the energetic one, and I am sure he will make an excellent addition to my team.
[[And now you get a view of the girl, who looks like she's recovering from a cold.]]
I have doubts of challenging the gym here before we leave, but I suppose that is not my duty as a breeder anyway, is it?
[[For everyone else, the feed ends here. However, Karkat gets one soon after.]]
[Filtered to Karkat]
...Karkat. Would I be able to ask a favor of you? It concerns living arrangements, as I have been unable to work for the past week due to both my illness and the incident with Dave, and therefor can no longer afford room and board.
Of course I intend to find work as soon as possible, but until then I have no where to stay...

Action;
Though I envy that asshole, because he got to deal with John when he wasn't constantly being all... 'but we're buddies!' and shit. He had to be more likable then.
Action;
If you would like, I could talk to him about being 'buddies' with you. He may be insistent upon it, but I am sure he would listen if I conversed with him about it.
Action;
Action;
[[Tentatively she leans back against him.]]
I am sure I will get a chance to soon. There is rarely a day where I do not at least say hello to him.
Action;
You really do like him, don't you?
Action;
He's a good friend. All three of them are, but he just. He's easier to talk to. He may joke around a lot, but he doesn't make an active effort to tease me. Simply to involve me in his humorous, if not irritating, antics. And he may not understand a lot of what I say all the time, but he tries to rather than simply brushing me off, or informing me of how silly I am being - unless, of course, the situation warrants such information to be given. And he really can be quite sweet at times. And he's...genuinely sincere. Unlike Dave, who is as facetious as I am, or Jade, who's sincerity comes from naivety. It's easy to tell when John means what he says and does, and he means so with conscious effort. He tries.
He is pleasant company.
Action;
[He falls silent, thinking for a long moment.]
So much for watching the end of that movie.
Action;
[[She simply sighs contently, drawing her legs onto the couch to wrap her arms around her knees.]]
I am enjoying talking more as of right now anyway. You are quite pleasant company yourself, Karkat.
Action;
[He shuffles on the couch, turning so he can look at her better.]
You're not doing much to change my mind about your tastes, either.
... Though I guess it is good to have someone to talk to about all this shit.
Action;
[[She sits up a little to allow him an easier time with moving, and then leans back against him once he's done, chuckling.]]
Well if I have obscure tastes in men for enjoying yours and John's company, than I suppose I will live with knowledge that I am a strange little girl.
Action;
[He glances towards the TV, then at the stack of DVDs sitting beside it.]
I swear. Sooner or later I am going to own every romcom in Johto, at this rate. At least they're something I like.
I suppose your odd tastes are a good thing for me, at least.
[Have an actual hair-ruffled, Rose.] Since I doubt you'd bother being my moirail otherwise.
Action;
Yes, it is a very good thing for you. And at least you would have plenty of variety to your collection. It would be a tragedy to become bored of such good cinema simply due to the fact you have seen it many, many times before.
Action;
The really good ones are always worth rewatching. Not that I'm complaining.
Action;
[[Another sigh and she drops her own hand as well, playing with her toes a little in idle thought.]]
I could replay this one if you'd like. Or we could move onto a different one.
Action;
Let's try the second one.
Action;
From the description on the back, this one is sounds as though it will be good. Even if the lead role's actress isn't one of my favorites.
[[And soon back in her seat, leaning up against Karkat and using the remote to play the movie.]]
Action;
Things like that just make good fodder for other interpretations. Like in the one before this. If the actor tries to fill a role a certain way, it gives rise to different ways the scenario would go. It's a good way to make up for the lack of other quadrants, like I said.
Action;
However, I will look at it differently and see if that helps any.
Action; maybe just one tag in the meanwhile
[Peering at her now.]
What about her? Because I know there's actors I like or hate more than others.
Action;
Action;
Action;
Which troll actors do you like...or dislike, for that matter. If you don't mind my inquiring about them.
Action;
There's this one movie, it's not very good, but it has Troll Sandler in it, and he doesn't piss me off at all in that one. Like at all. But then, I haven't seen a whole lot of his stuff, so maybe it's just part of the role he had.
Troll Will Smith, though, he's great. He's in one of my favorite movies, and he was in Thresh Prince of Bel-Air, too - that's where Homes gets his name. From thew themesong. He's a great actor, and he just seems like a really cool guy.
Can't think of any ones I specifically dislike off the top of my head right now. Maybe if I could go back and see some of the movies I used to have... but that's pretty much fucking impossible at this juncture.
Action;
I wish there was a way you could. I would be more than delighted to watch a few of your movies.
Action;
It's just more satisfying to actually see stories that revolve around the quadrants than try to imagine them into what-if scenarios for human movies.
