Chapter 63; Video/Filtered Video from the Homestuck Cast

Three years ago today I was kicked out of my mother's house into a frozen wasteland, expected to travel on my own with nothing but the most annoying animal to keep me company.

[There's an almost listless sigh to accompany the narrative. The screen is taken up by the sight of the ocean in the late afternoon. If the voice wasn't a give away, it likely isn't hard to guess who is broadcasting this.]

I'm really grateful that whatever brings people here decided to bring me. These have been the best three years of my life, I'm fairly certain. The friends I've made, the relationships I've formed, the bonds with the Pokemon I've acquired...all my adventures and the memories I've made.

I want to sincerely thank everyone here for having me. And tell you all that I'm glad you're here with me, even if we haven't met. Because I'm sure our paths will cross eventually.

It's been forever since I've done a filter like this. I just wanted you all to know how happy I am to have you guys here with me. Partly because I truly value your companionship, and partly because I'm just...glad you're out of the shit that our life was back home. Thank you for being my friend.

Well, when you spend several months with a person, even a week away can leave you yearning for their company again. That's certainly how I felt once everyone left after the holidays.

[She doesn't even notice anymore. If they say house, they say house. If they say hive, they say hive. She's so used to both terms.

At least Pokeland doesn't have a different word for houses. It might start getting confusing then.]

That's probably true! I never really had cause to find out until coming here, I suppose. I mean, I miss my lusus, but that's a rather different matter.

[ Though she does think that John and Rose probably don't need everyone inhabiting their house year round. Probably they could use breaks and alone time and things like that.

...And then just no breaks for Holiday Months which are all neatly lined up, welp. ]

I was going to try to go back towards Ecruteak at least for the latter half of March - and then early April, because I'd be there anyway?

[ To catch the non-December birthdays, such as they are. ]

Missing your lusus is a bit different, but I can sympathize. However we would love to have you for that time. We'd love to get everyone back together around the end of March again. I already have lots of plans for birthdays and the like, so if we could sort of get everyone there that would be great.

I have, yes. A while ago there was a Tournament for Pokemon Battles. Kayneth was my first opponent. Since then I've spoken to him sparsely, but I'd like to change that.

And I do know, yes. Why might you be asking? Because if you want some, you could just ask for them.

[She's got a feeling that's not the case, because surely Aradia would know she could just ask for a candy cane if she was craving them...]

If you're referring to our match specifically, I won. If you're talking about the tournament on a whole, I don't really remember. I stopped paying attention once myself and my friends were out.

And of course I meant your match! I wouldn't have paid too much attention after the people I knew were out either, to be honest. I think it's a bit more engaging when you know people in matches.

I don't think he ever forgave me for defeating him and then losing the very next round. And exactly. It's exciting to watch your friends in events like that.

You don't even need to suspect it. He will. He cannot resist the temptation. When I find out where he's keeping them next year - because I have a feeling he might change the hidden location - I'll even distract him for you.

...That sounds fairly apt, although he is really fun to talk to!

[ She is thinking she can at least trust Rose to help her with the location and distraction in order to prank John, but yes. Aradia has a healthy wariness of snacks from their house now. ...Which isn't to say she wouldn't encourage other people to try them first as a sort of testing method. ]

Wonderful. And no, it's before that actually. April Fool's falls on the first of April and it is a day specifically set aside for pranks. It is John's favorite holiday I am pretty sure, for reasons that are likely very obvious. One of the reasons I want to round everyone up by the end of March is so that they can all be present for the holiday at our house.

I'll be there before the twenty-fifth of March at least, and I imagine it'd be easy for the Johto-bound group to get back there. And some of my other friends might be in town still?
