Three years ago today I was kicked out of my mother's house into a frozen wasteland, expected to travel on my own with nothing but the most annoying animal to keep me company.

[There's an almost listless sigh to accompany the narrative. The screen is taken up by the sight of the ocean in the late afternoon. If the voice wasn't a give away, it likely isn't hard to guess who is broadcasting this.]

I'm really grateful that whatever brings people here decided to bring me. These have been the best three years of my life, I'm fairly certain. The friends I've made, the relationships I've formed, the bonds with the Pokemon I've acquired...all my adventures and the memories I've made.

I want to sincerely thank everyone here for having me. And tell you all that I'm glad you're here with me, even if we haven't met. Because I'm sure our paths will cross eventually.

It's been forever since I've done a filter like this. I just wanted you all to know how happy I am to have you guys here with me. Partly because I truly value your companionship, and partly because I'm just...glad you're out of the shit that our life was back home. Thank you for being my friend.

I have, yes. A while ago there was a Tournament for Pokemon Battles. Kayneth was my first opponent. Since then I've spoken to him sparsely, but I'd like to change that.

If you're referring to our match specifically, I won. If you're talking about the tournament on a whole, I don't really remember. I stopped paying attention once myself and my friends were out.

[Chuckling, she rubs at her chin a little.]

Mm, I sold him at least one thing at the Breeders' fair a while back? I forget what without checking my notes at this point.

And of course I meant your match! I wouldn't have paid too much attention after the people I knew were out either, to be honest. I think it's a bit more engaging when you know people in matches.

[ John had said she was a smart girl and could figure it out (jokingly) which probably had not included the possibility of running to Rose and flat out asking for the answers, but hey. All available resources, right?

Also, Rose would have had a better idea than her for the location, anyway. ]

If you do, I'm going to fix it next year when he pulls something! Because I strongly suspect he will.

I don't think he ever forgave me for defeating him and then losing the very next round. And exactly. It's exciting to watch your friends in events like that.

You don't even need to suspect it. He will. He cannot resist the temptation. When I find out where he's keeping them next year - because I have a feeling he might change the hidden location - I'll even distract him for you.

...That sounds fairly apt, although he is really fun to talk to!

[ She is thinking she can at least trust Rose to help her with the location and distraction in order to prank John, but yes. Aradia has a healthy wariness of snacks from their house now. ...Which isn't to say she wouldn't encourage other people to try them first as a sort of testing method. ]

I think this is less a favor or lack there of and more the start of a beautiful partnership of pranksterism.

Well...if you swear yourself to secrecy, I might be willing to let you in on a little fun I have planned for a certain up coming holiday. It'd be the perfect time to try new things and learn new tricks.

Wonderful. And no, it's before that actually. April Fool's falls on the first of April and it is a day specifically set aside for pranks. It is John's favorite holiday I am pretty sure, for reasons that are likely very obvious. One of the reasons I want to round everyone up by the end of March is so that they can all be present for the holiday at our house.

[ ...Now that Rose mentions it, she thinks she vaguely recalls seeing mention of it last year, although she never got the full memo, or it didn't effect her. ]

I'll be there before the twenty-fifth of March at least, and I imagine it'd be easy for the Johto-bound group to get back there. And some of my other friends might be in town still?

[ Rose is either rounding up victims for John or herself or both, basically. Right? ]

This sounds like a really good time to keep on ones' toes. And to use windows as points of entry?

And yes, most certainly. If the door isn't open all the way or closed complete, it's suspect.

Well, it's only about a week after my birthday, right? So he could be brought there for that and just trapped.

It'd be pretty hard to turn down an invite to a friend's birthday party! And I could even invite him myself if he says no to other people.
