Chapter 59; Text;
I have a question for you all today.
What sorts of things do you do with your families?
Or did, in case they're not here, you no longer lived with them at home, etc.
Did you have many family outings?
Did you stay at home and watch television together?
Did you play card games or board games or something?
How did you enjoy your time together?
Or...tell me about them maybe...
Do you live with both of your parents?
Do you have any siblings?
Are you the oldest or the youngest?
...I guess I actually have a lot of questions.
Sorry about that.

Like law and tactics and math
And how to disarm, incapacitate, and arrest suspects
And how to use firearms.
Sometimes we would make dinner together though
And listen to the radio.
No family outings unless missions count.
We went on those a lot.
I don't have a mother.
I thought Papa was my brother until recently
Since some weird science stuff happened in order to give me life.
And he wanted to keep it secret I guess.
My consciousness was fully awake before Agito's
So I guess I am the oldest??
Even though our body is shared.
Lots of weird things.

[He left Davy Jones to keep her company, however the little Omanyte doesn't quite seem to have a grasp of the situation. Though he can at least tell that something is not quite right. He burbles somewhat more quietly than usual, flailing his tentacles in an almost questioning manner at Rose. Mamma? Mamma what's wrong? ono]

But there are two people I've met elsewhere that I consider like siblings to me; possibly a third now, though I haven't talked about it with him. We're closer than I ever was to my actual family, which I guess I feel kind of bad about in a way? But I wouldn't trade the time I've spent with them for anything. We talk a lot, in ways that I really couldn't talk to anyone else; sometimes we do outings together, sometimes we spar to keep our skills up.
It's pretty normal and in a lot of ways it's kind of boring to hear about, but it's not something I've really had with anyone else, either, so it's important to me.

We were kind of...unconventional, compared to what most families probably do now. Same with myself and my wife--we didn't really match up to the modern idea of family. Still, we got along well enough.

[He looks at the message for a minute before deciding to respond. Nostalgic mood or something.]
[That's a lot of questions, so he'll just take it a piece at a time.]
My dad used to take me fishing, when he had time away from the plant. Old-fashioned guy.

But she feels guilty for it now, for not stepping forward sooner like she really wanted to and knows she should have. She doesn't even need to ask what the survey's for, the Eeveelution explosion she found in her things was telling enough. It's a little awkward to address it directly, so she goes for the indirect manner.]

He got wrapped up in his own stupid affairs, though, so that ended pretty quick. But it gave me incentive to learn to read on my own.
Actually, I haven't lived with my parents for a while. Academy students live in dorms or apartments of their own while attending school. I'm an only child, as far as I know. I mean, I *think* that my dad would avoid getting some other woman pregnant, even if he was messing around.
[Maka this isn't really something you should be talking about to people you don't know that well...
On the other hand, she doesn't care who knows, it's not like it affects her personally.]
My parents were busy most often.

What of those who do not profess to have such a thing?

I'm the older twin. I live with my brother in a dorm room at our school.
Why are you asking?

When we were kids, my kid brother and I would hang out at our parents' drugstore after school while we did our homework, and sometimes our mom would let us spoil our dinner with ice cream.
We caught fireflies in the summer and used them as night lights, and sometimes we went camping for the weekend.
My mom was a real prankster, too. April Fool's was her favorite holiday, and Bud and I would plot all year trying to figure out how to get her. One year, he put flour in her tuba thinking he would get her good, but then she woke ME up with it and I was the one who got dusted.
[Man...he misses them.]

Ah, I'm an older sister! My little brother is only 3 years old, so sometimes I stayed home with him when my parents went out. We had fun drawing and watching animated movies and coming up with all the things to do, while we were alone at the big house.
