I have a question for you all today.
What sorts of things do you do with your families?
Or did, in case they're not here, you no longer lived with them at home, etc.
Did you have many family outings?
Did you stay at home and watch television together?
Did you play card games or board games or something?
How did you enjoy your time together?

Or...tell me about them maybe...
Do you live with both of your parents?
Do you have any siblings?
Are you the oldest or the youngest?

...I guess I actually have a lot of questions.

[He even grabbed a purple one and a light blue one! For mamma and baby. Or maybe papa and baby, we really just can't be sure. DJ gurgles happily in response to the snuggles, doing his best to return the favor. At least until a loud beep from the kitchen startles him so badly that he disappears inside his shell with a squeak.]

[He's heard the sound of an oven timer going off plenty of times now, but it will never fail to make him jump, apparently.]

[[Just going to play with them with him. At...least until he disappears at the sound of the oven timer. Curious, she peeks out of her fort for a moment, before disappearing back in trying to coax him out of the shell.]]

[After a few moments, DJ sloooooowly peeks out of his shell, eventually emerging entirely and resuming his previous affections. Like the whole timer thing didn't even happen, he has clearly already forgotten about it.]

[[What a cutie. She smiles and smothers him with affection as well, playing with the squiddles with him. Though she's curious as to what that timer was about...]]

[Well fortunately, she doesn't have to wait long for an answer to that. After a few minutes, there's the sound of sock-clad feet padding over carpet accompanied by the smell of something warm and chocolate-y.]

Wow, Rose. I'm disappointed. I know you have better fort building skills than that!

[[She smiles, peering out at him.]]

Well John, as much as I hate to argue with you, you have no room to be disappointed with me. This isn't a fort. It's a cocoon.

[DJ attempts to peer out as well, likely with no success. But the attempt was there, at least.]

Oh, okay. Then consider my disappointment retracted. Any chance your metamorphosis will be complete soon?

[He holds up a plate, covered in a small pile of gooey, steamy, brown squares.]

'cause I have a plate of brownies here with your name on them. Though I'm sure Dave would be more than happy to eat them if you still have another season to go before emerging from your cocoon.
