Chapter 32; Video/Action for Violet City

[[Today you're greeted with a rare sight. Not only is Rose wet and dressed in a rather cute Dratini themed bikini, but she's outside and wearing a rather smug grin.]]

Dave, I would just like to show you this little gem.

[[And here she holds the Violet City badge up to the camera.]]

I thought I would give you a good week or so to obtain it first, seeing as I was already a badge ahead of you, but this is getting ridiculous. I think I will change my goal of only obtaining useful badges. From here out, I will work towards all of them. We'll make this a competition, how's that sound? A friendly sibling rivalry.

Who can come to possess all eight badges first? Lalonde? Or Strider?

[[Chuckling, she tucks the badge back in her bag, straightening once more.]]

That said, I felt a celebration was in order. And, seeing as it is so warm out, what better way to celebrate than with a little summer party? John, Dave, you are both expected to attend, and I will not take no for an answer. You might want to dress water friendly.

Anyone else in the Violet area is perfectly welcome to come as well.

[[From here, the camera is turned, apparently to show of various attractions as she begins explaining everything.]]

We're equipped with Insufferable Prick, resident sprinkler system. The newest addition to my team, Haze, can offer plenty of cooler temperatures being an Ice Pokemon. Halos is more than willing to fetch you snacks or beverages if you'd like.

And of course your Pokemon are all quite welcome too. The more the merrier, right?

[[With a tiny wave, she shuts the feed off.]]

[[Making no comment at the noise, she simply chuckles.]] Because I often see you in shorts. Besides, the difference between shorts and swim trunks is that you are guaranteed to be wearing something with a Pokemon design on it.

It's still not really all that different, pokémon designs or not. Hmm...I wonder if they will have any with Haunters on them...

[Because...you know, John needs more clothing with Haunters on them.]

They're cuter. [[Shaking her head at the mention of a Haunter design, she laughs.]]

Please John. Do you really need more Haunter themed clothing? Why not a water type? After all, they're swim trunks.

[There's an eyeroll on this end. And eyeroll that you can't see, Rose, but it's still there.]

Rose, please. You and I both know it's impossible to have too much Haunter-themed clothing. Besides it's not like I have that much. Just pajama pants and boxer shorts...and that one shirt. In the end, I guess it will just depend on what they have in stock.

[[She can hear it in his voice.]]

John, variety is the spice of life, as they say.

[[And that is all she has to say on the matter. Well, until she adds in an afterthought, quite playfully.]]

I had no idea you had Haunter themed boxers as well.

Alright. Fine then. I'll look for Duskull swim trunks, how's that for spicy variety? [Oh snap!]

Uh...well. Now you do! [Nervous laugh.]

Duskull? Why am I unsurprised.

And yes. Yes I do. [[Just another small smirk, this one more victorious than anything.]] I hope that doesn't make you too uncomfortable.

Hey. Don't knock Duskull, they're awesome too. Don't even try to deny the fact that you think my Dusknoir is amazing.

But uh...no not too uncomfortable. I mean, it's not like you've seen me in them or anything. So...just talking about them is fine.

Did I say anything about the possibility of Duskull being anything but awesome? And yes, Elliot is quite astounding.

[He needs full concentration and both hands to pick out a swimsuit and change, you know. It's serious business. And he's not the best at balancing the 'gear between his shoulder and ear.]

Alright John. I eagerly await your arrival.

[[It's okay. Surprisingly, she's not the best at it either. She prefers setting it down so she has full use of her limbs.]]

[There's a click as the line closes. And yeah, guess who just wimped out on saying "I love you" again? That would be John. Though in an attempt to rectify this, he sends her a quick text as long as he still has his pokégear open.]

[Somewhat satisfied with this, he closes the small device with a click, pockets it, and enters the store. And then spends a good 5-10 minutes picking out a swimsuit. Which would be boring to describe and who wants to read that? Skip forward a bit.]

[About 15-20 minutes after he sends the text, John himself appears at Rose's party with Casey in tow and Sassacre on his head. The swim trunks he found? Bright blue with light blue bubbles on the side of the right leg. Oh, but not just bubbles. There's a cute little Omanyte near the hem. On top, he's wearing a plain white t-shirt. Sorry, Rose. No shirtless John, apparently.]

[As for Casey...well. For some reason she has a bright pink sarong tied around her hips. Apparently she wanted to play dress up too.]

I didn't keep you waiting too long, did I?

[[That's okay. Guess who whimped out even sending a <3 in reply?

By the time he arrives, Rose has taken to laying out on a towel in the sun, a pair of delicate shades helping to shield her eyes. John approaches and speaks up, and she lazily cracks an eye open to look at him.

...but oh wait, what is that on his trunks? Something worth sitting up for, that's for sure. Turning to give him a better once over, she smiles.]]

I knew it would be worth the wait. Those are the cutest trunks, John. Omanyte. Lovely choice. And hello Casey. That is an absolutely adorable sarong you are wearing.

Thanks...there wasn't really that much choice. And no ghosts at all. [Which he is very disappointed by. :T Casey on the other hand, starts chittering excitedly, bouncing up and down. She is so happy that you like her sarong, Rose.] Heh yeah she wanted to get a swimsuit too for some reason. But that...that just seemed a little weird to me.

Awww, I'm sorry to hear that. Well, you look charming in what you chose. And you did quite a good job picking something out for Casey too. [[Chuckling at the bunny, she pats the spot next to her on the towel.]]

Would you like to come sit with me? Or would you be more interested in cooling off first. Prick would be more than happy to assist.

[John gives Prick a somewhat wary look. He's been on the receiving end of a water gun attack before (thank you so much, Soul) and he's really not certain that he wants to repeat that right this second.]

Uh, I think I'll sit with you for now. [Gladly. He will gladly join her on that towel.] Oh and uh, I'm not the one who picked that out. Casey is.

[This causes the Lopunny to straighten up a little, looking rather proud of herself.]

[[Shrugging, she seems pleased that he joined her.]]

Well wonderful choice Casey. How are you both?

[This is a thank you, Rose, even though you can't understand it. Apparently Casey doesn't feel like joining the two humans though. She's looking around for something instead. Specifically: Guile and/or halos.]

We're fine. Haven't really done much today. Mostly just laying around playing tetris while Casey doodled for a bit. And Sassacre here [His eyes flick upward to the little snake in question.] spent the whole morning staring out the window. Though that's really nothing new. What about you? Aside from your water party, I mean.

[[Both Pokemon are nearby. Guile is sunbathing on a warm rock, while Halos is looking at flowers, a small bouquet already forming in one of his fins. Bet you can't guess who those are for.]]

Very well thank you. We've been actually enjoying the sun, what with Prick and Haze to keep us cool for the most part. I was considering attempting to tan earlier, but I fear my skin merely tried to burn instead. So sunblock was liberally applied. Oh well.

[Casey has no idea. She can't even guess who those could possibly for. She's going to very quickly scamper over to Halos though. She would go say hi to Guile too but...if she doesn't want to wake her if the psychic is asleep. She looks so comfortable over there. Hi Halos, hi. Look at Casey's sarong, isn't it pretty?]

Are you okay? You didn't actually burn anywhere did you? [He gives her a quick glance over. Just checking for sunburn, he swears. The fact that he gets a nice, up-close, in-person-and-not-over-video view of all that bare skin is just a bonus.]

[[Laughing, she nods.]] I'm fine John. I might be a little pink in a few areas, mostly my back, but nothing hurts so I am going to assume I will live.

[[ohjeezhicasey. Gosh your sarong is pretty. Halos is all sorts of shy and bashful, and is doing his best to tell you how pretty he thinks it is, but he's stuttering pretty bad. But oh look! These flowers are apparently for you! Because you're just so pretty, and they're pretty, and they're pink which matches your sarong...]]

Okay, if you're sure...if it does start hurting though, let me know. I'll go find some of that aloe vera stuff and rub it on your back for you. [...oh jeez, wait. That sounds kind of bad, doesn't it?] ...I-If you want, that is.

[Oh Halos, you're so cute. And Casey absolutely love those flowers! In fact she loves them, and more importantly you, so much that she's going to........................

...give you a very excited hug. Yeah. And the crowd goes wild at this completely unforeseen turn of events..]

Mmm, I would appreciate that. It's rather hard to reach my back myself, after all. But it doesn't hurt now. Thank you though.

[[OhgoshohgoshahugfromCasey. Halos is so excited. He's...kind of getting a little staticy. Nothing to hurt, but it's probably causing a bit of a tingle for poor Casey. And likely helping to fluff her fluff a little extra. Though he is hugging you back at least!]]

Hah...yeah, it is. Oh and...I forgot to mention it earlier, but I really like your swimsuit too. [Fidget, fidget.] It's really cute.

[It's okay Halos! Casey likes your static-filled hugs. See, she's kind of like her daddy in some regards. And romantic corniness is one of them. If the issue was ever brought up to her, you could expect a cheesy response like "But our hugs are ~electric~" or something like that.]

[[With a slight blush, she turns her head away from him, but only so she can lean against his shoulder a little.]]

[[Oh jeez Casey. Really? That's terrible. But at least you like them. He would be terribly scared of hugging you if you didn't, because he has a bad habit of it. >:]]
