Chapter 32; Video/Action for Violet City

[[Today you're greeted with a rare sight. Not only is Rose wet and dressed in a rather cute Dratini themed bikini, but she's outside and wearing a rather smug grin.]]

Dave, I would just like to show you this little gem.

[[And here she holds the Violet City badge up to the camera.]]

I thought I would give you a good week or so to obtain it first, seeing as I was already a badge ahead of you, but this is getting ridiculous. I think I will change my goal of only obtaining useful badges. From here out, I will work towards all of them. We'll make this a competition, how's that sound? A friendly sibling rivalry.

Who can come to possess all eight badges first? Lalonde? Or Strider?

[[Chuckling, she tucks the badge back in her bag, straightening once more.]]

That said, I felt a celebration was in order. And, seeing as it is so warm out, what better way to celebrate than with a little summer party? John, Dave, you are both expected to attend, and I will not take no for an answer. You might want to dress water friendly.

Anyone else in the Violet area is perfectly welcome to come as well.

[[From here, the camera is turned, apparently to show of various attractions as she begins explaining everything.]]

We're equipped with Insufferable Prick, resident sprinkler system. The newest addition to my team, Haze, can offer plenty of cooler temperatures being an Ice Pokemon. Halos is more than willing to fetch you snacks or beverages if you'd like.

Finally, yes. I was having a very hard time deciding on whether or not to follow through with Karkat's original plans for her, but...decided that we likely do not need two Umbreons between us. And that it would most likely be useful to have an ice type.

Oh, yeah that makes sense. What's this evolution called? It's really cute. [He offers a hand out to the Glaceon. Are you going to bite him like his eeveelution?]

Glaceon. [[No, Haze is going to eye him warily, sniff his hand a little, before moving to the other side of Rose and just...peering at him from behind her.]] She's...quite shy.

Oh, I see. [He looks a bit crestfallen. Why is Guile the only eeveelution that likes him? ono] So you're like...what? Four evolutions short of a full set now? [Sort of change of subject. Also giggling a bit now.] Three if you count Lestat as part of your collection?

[No it's not, Halos.]

Indeed. Flareon the fire type, Jolteon the electric, and Vaporeon the water. [[Petting Haze idly, she chuckles.]] And don't take it personally, John. She's like this with everyone. She always has been, from what I could tell.

Take it personally? Never! If she's shy then she's shy, there's nothing wrong with that.

Alright. You just seemed a little sad is all.

[[And off Haze goes to snuggle with her mother. Or sunbathe with her anyway.]]

Well, maybe a little but now that I know it's because she's shy and not because she doesn't like me or something...

This is me, not worrying. See? [And with that, he flops onto his back and looks over at her, grinning.]

[[Chuckling in return, she sighs and closes her eyes, crossing an arm behind her head and resting the other down to take his hand.]]

[Too bad he forgot that Sassacre was still sitting on his head. He probably should have worried a little before flopping back like that. There's a disgruntled as the small snake lands flat on his back and wiggles a bit, trying to roll himself over. It's hard to do that when you don't have limbs, but with the help of his wings, he manages to right himself and begins floating away towards Prick.]

[Raising his head up a bit, he turns to face the tiny snake, slightly distraught.] Oh god, Sassacre I'm so sor- [John's cut off by a whap to the cheek from the Dunsparce's drill of a tail as he passes by. He loves you, John, but that was really quite rude.] --ry. Ugh. [And laying his head back down, staring straight ahead.]

Poor Sassacre. [[Squeezing his hand a little, she smiles over at him.]] At least it was merely a pap from his tail, and not an attack of any sort. You aren't too injured, are you?

[Return hand squeeze.] Yeah...I'm fine. I just feel bad because I upset him and possibly hurt him. And I didn't mean to I just...forget he's up there half the time because I've gotten so used to it.

I'm sure he's alright John. And I'm sure he'll forgive you.

Yeah. I'm sure he will too, he's not one to hold grudges or anything.

[But unfortunately, he is one to occasionally pull pranks, calm and sophisticated though he is. Insufferable Prick, would you mind helping a dear old chum out? He thinks his master could really use a good dousing as that fall was not only somewhat painful, but rather undignified. He was left rolling on his back like a Squirtle, for goodness sakes!]

[[Hey. Prick is never one to deny a pokebro when he needs some help. He'll just waddle on over there...]]

That's good. We can stop by a Pokemon restaurant on the way home and get them dinner too. I'm sure that would make it up to him. Hmm? Oh, hello Dave. What are you up t--

[[Here John. Have a good dousing, rousing a squeak from Rose.]]

[If he had any arms, Sassacre would likely indulge you in one of your "pokébro fistbumps", dear Prick. You are a true gentlemon and pokéchum. He's not the type to laugh, unlike Slimer or Tera-Geist, but there is a small, satisfied smile on the normally blank face.]

[Meanwhile, John is just...going to lay there. Soaking wet, looking stunned, and wondering why in the world he decided to wear a white shirt to a water party. ~~Good thing he's not a girl.~~]

[[........

And Rose is going to try and hold in her laughter.......]]

I...probably deserved that. [He pushes himself into a sitting position again, holding his arms out a little, with a look that pretty much just says "Uh. Soaking wet. What do?"] Um...you wouldn't happen to have an extra towel, would you? [Because guess what he forgot?]

Mmm in my bag. But do you really need to dry off just yet?

Well I kind of need to at least wipe off my glasses. And...yeah, I would rather not sit here dripping.

[Not cool. ;;]

Here. [[Taking his glasses, she gently uses a corner of her swim skirt to dry them off. They're a little smeared, but you should be able to see. Placing them back on his face, she chuckles.]]

Sun bathe. You'll dry off.

[He's just...going to resist the urge to say something about the glasses. That really didn't help things and he hates it when they're smeared or dirty but he doesn't want to hurt Rose's feelings. He really appreciates the thought just...slkjfdlsg. He'll just...deal with it and clean them when he gets back to his room.]

Yeah, but...that would mean that I would have to take my shirt off...
