tentacletrainer: (Why is that)

Chapter 17; Video/Filtered Video/Filtered Voice

[Filtered from Bro Strider.]

[[Hello Johto. Have the curious looking Rose Lalonde on your video screens.]]

I have a question. Especially for those who have made it to Azalea and beyond.

When traveling, what has been your most valuable supply? Of course aside from the necessities such as food and water. But is there anything in particular I should possibly obtain for such a trip?

[Video filtered to Karkat]

I've recently spoken with Soul about a few things concerning our travel, and as you are the leader I felt it a good idea to go over the with you, and ask for your opinion on it as well.

It's concerning supplies to take, and letting you know of my general plans on how to go about this.

I wish to be ready to leave at a moment's notice, since that's what it seems will transpire.

[Voice filtered to John]

John, I have plans for you today. Call me when you are awake and able.

Be my guest. I also wouldn't mind sharing any notes with you I have previous to this post, if you'd like.

[[Rose is always willing to assist fellow travelers with their traveling needs.

Well, provided they haven't proven themselves unworthy of such help.]]

Great! Thanks. Though I... may not have much to contribute later cause I just got here a couple days ago. I'm Sokka by the way.

That is quite understandable, so worry not. With that in mind, however, are you still in New Bark?

It's a pleasure to meet you, Sokka. My name is Rose Lalonde.

Nice to meet you too, Rose.

And no, I'm in... Cherry... grove? I think that's what the map said. I'm waiting here with a friend from home for another one to come meet up with us.

Ah, Cherrygrove. Then I have a few suggestions.

One is to speak with the locals, and receive a map for the forest outside of the city. There was an old man near the entrance there that gave me such a map. It was quite useful.

Two is that the Nurses there are very informative, and you should consider asking them any questions you may have that others are unable to answer. They will very likely have the answers for you.

Three was going to be travel in a group, but you seem to already have that under control.

[He listens, attentive, and nods as he makes sure to get all that out of the way before Zuko arrives. Being totally clueless gets old very very fast after all.]

Alright. Thanks! I'll make sure I do that before we leave.

Oh and... is it common to just have new pokémon appear? I was given another pokéball the other day when I went to the Pokémon Center, they said it'd been waiting for me, but it's not like I caught it or anything. I've already got one, and it's not really able to fight, so this is really convenient, but still...

[[Oh dear.]]

That's not common exactly, no. From my knowledge, instances like that happen when someone is sent back to their world. Their Pokemon are left behind, and are given to other trainers.

[[She has yet to experience when they aren't just given to others.]]

[identity profile] gotputonhold.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. Well, good on both accounts then. Whoever trained it before finally got to go home, and the time they spent here doesn't go to waste!

...it doesn't seem to be listening to me though...

Knowing it's name would help, but beyond that it could simply be the way the Pokemon is. A friend of mine received a Pokemon from such a situation who doesn't seem to like him much, and therefor doesn't listen to him often.

Well it's called a 'Mareep'. But from what I've seen it's kind of a jerk.

Video;

[identity profile] usedtherapy.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I was actually referring to whatever nomenclature it's previous owner may have given it. Such as how my Eevee's name is Guillemot, and therefor responds better when I call her by such.

It being a jerk, however, could easily lend to why it isn't listening to you.

Video;

[identity profile] gotputonhold.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Well it can't exactly, you know, tell me if it had a nickname.

I'm starting to think that maybe its old owner just didn't want it anymore.

Video;

[identity profile] usedtherapy.livejournal.com 2011-03-18 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
...I suppose you're right there.

And, as terrible as that would be, that...certainly is a possibility.

The first thing it did after I let it out of the pokéball was shock me. For absolutely no reason. And I'm pretty sure it found that really amusing.

Video;

[identity profile] usedtherapy.livejournal.com 2011-03-19 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
...I wish I could help you with that. I would suggest discipline of some sort, but I've a feeling it found that amusing, it would likely be difficult to teach any different.

See, at first I thought my grudge against electric types was unreasonable, but after this?

... I'm not so sure anymore.
It proceeded to attempt fried fish with my Magikarp after that. ...I have no idea what to do with it, and it won't stay in its ball. Suggestions?

Video;

[identity profile] usedtherapy.livejournal.com 2011-03-19 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Well.

[[Hmm. Psychoanalyzing a Pokemon. This should be interesting.]]

Has it attacked anyone else that you know of? Or simply you and your Magikarp?

Perhaps trying to find it an outlet for this behavior might help to quell it? Battle with it as often as possible to get all of this...whatever it is out of it's system, and perhaps it would not be as insufferable.
