Chapter 12; Voice for John
[[It was rather early, and yet she found she couldn't sleep. Her second night in Karkat's hotel still felt like awkward, even if they weren't sleeping in the same room as one another, and this was cause for slight insomnia.
At first she tried typical things to aid her slumber. Pacing. Reading. Warm milk. Relaxing music. The Pokemon Lullaby, as Dave had suggested. And when she finally ran out of ideas, she decide she would at least make use of her time.
And so, retrieving her Pokegear, she sends a call to a friend of hers, hoping it would be enough to wake him from whatever slumber he is in.]]

[He looks a little hesitant about entering the library before her. Wasn't this supposed to be the other way around?]
Thanks.
[When in doubt, go with it.]
no subject
[[And following him in, quite happily admiring the library once they're inside. It doesn't take her long, however, to push past her friend and head towards a specific section.]]
This way, John.

Are there any Pokemon you are particularly interested in? Or any type?
no subject
[It appears as though he may actually have something specific in mind. He's examining the books on the shelves closely, looking for--]
Oh! There we go!
[He pulls a dark purple book off the shelf and holds it up, smiling. Looks like it's a complete guide to ghost types.
Like you expected anything else from him.For a supposed "complete guide" it's not very thick...]no subject
[[Shaking her head, she turns and starts walking towards a table near by. She just expects you to follow, John.
Like the puppy you are.]]no subject
[He most certainly is following you, Rose!
He is the best puppy, isn't he?]I mean I have the only ghost type that existed in the games. But maybe there are some new ones here! That would be neat!
[He's starting to get that excited, borderline-fanatical look in his eyes.]
no subject
You are positively hopeless, John Egbert. Please try to avoid Pokemon in the future whom may attempt to switch your medicine if you can help it.
[[Yeah, his Ghastly obviously didn't leave a very pleasant taste in her mouth about ghost Pokemon.]]

gigglingchuckling a bit.]Okay I will. But really, ghost types aren't all that bad. I mean Jade's Gastly is really nice.
[Flipping through the book now~ Oh wow they're weak to dark type? What's dark type? When did that happen? Hm...]

I've yet to meet it. I've yet to meet any of her Pokemon, really. We really need to do a little catching up.
no subject
We all do I think. I mean, we've been in Violet how long and the four of us haven't really done much together have we? Unless you count all that stuff from last week...which I don't. Because Dave wasn't conscious for that.
[Flip. Flip. Flip. Flip. Flip.]
The four of should really get together and do something...
[His tone is somewhat melancholy, though he doesn't look up from the book and the look on his face is rather neutral. He just wants to spend time with his friends, is that really so much to ask? Really, what's the point of meeting face-to-face if they weren't even going to hang out together?]
no subject
Perhaps sometime in the future. I am sure Dave would be up to such a challenge.
no subject
[Is he losing himself in this book? Yep, he sure is. He's actually reading it now too! Not just skimming through it in an attempt to find "the good stuff"]

no subject
[But all good things must come to an end.]
Oh my god...
[He's trying really hard not to laugh, though that doesn't seem to be going to well for him.]
no subject
[[Looking up from her book, she glances over at John.]]
What is so humorous?
no subject
[He bursts into a fit of silent giggles as he turns the book around and slides it across the table. The book is open to a page displaying a small purple ghost with a single horn and large eyes. It's pretty damn adorable for a ghost. The name? Shuppet. The puppet pokemon.]
no subject
...oh no. This must be a joke.
[[Even as she says this though, even as a hand raises for a facepalm, she can't help but smile a little.]]
no subject
[He's pulling the book back and scanning the page furiously.]

no subject
[This is the voice of pure innocence.]
no subject
[[This is a look of pure disbelief.]]
no subject
[Still examining the pages thoroughly, he will find one dammit.]
no subject
[[Stern look. Don't even try, John. Don't even try.]]
no subject
[Sounds like a CHALLENGE. He even looks up from the book for a second to shoot you the most wicked prankster smirk he can manage.]
