Chapter 33; Accidental Video
[[Today, when the gear turns on, you get a lovely view of the sky and the calming sounds of water nearby. It's a beautiful day, for those of you not outside.
This serene setting is broken by a squeal from a Pokemon and a splash, then all falls quiet and calm again.
It's a few minutes before you hear something again. This something being another splash. And then on screen appears a Dratini with a quite pathetically wiggling Magikarp in it's mouth.

With a happy chirp it disappears off camera again, only to return a few moments later to rub all over the 'gear. And then off it goes. There's a squeal, a splash, and a few minutes later the familiar sight of this Dratini with another Magikarp, struggling in it's grasp. It disappears, it reappears to smother the Pokegear, rinse, wash, repeat.
This show goes on for some time, until finally - during one of its rubbing sessions - it stops and looks up. And then it simply begins to trill in excitement. Almost like if it doesn't make noise, it'll explode. It's also wiggling.
There is so much wiggling from this Dratini.]]
...V-vodka...what are you doing?
[[It seems this Dratini is none other than Vodka Derptini - also lovingly known as John - belonging to resident Rose Lalonde. And said trainer has found the little dragon Pokemon.
She appears momentarily on screen, picking up the 'gear, before turning to look at...oh.
It seems all those Magikarp the little wiggling dragon type had been collecting are in quite the pile of flopping. Meanwhile, the aforementioned culprit of this karp congregation is sitting next to said heap, wiggling as if waiting for praise.
Apparently those fish are a gift for his trainer.]]
...That's...very nice of you, John. Thank you very much. How sweet.
[[A few pats to the Dratini's head, followed by a multitude of elated chirps, lilts, warbles and purls, and the 'gear is shut off.]]

Action;
[[You probably never want to ask about that time with Bro. It's kind of embarrassing.
Then again. The text they sent him might be worth it. But you'd lose any respect you had for John and Rose.]]
Action;
He actually turns his head away a little now, glancing down out of the tree. ]
I'm just surprised you've never asked. I figured it was because you'd seen them already. Shit, Vantas had.
Action;
[[Snort. Oh lord, the Karkat/Dave thing...]]
Well, you two did have a flame. There's a distinct difference between someone you are both in hate and love with and your sister slash friend.
Action;
[ He plucks a leaf from the branch overhead and examines it idly. ]
Were you and Strider the First really that bad off that just bringing it up would've been homewrecking?
Action;
Action;
[ It should have been a dry statement, by all rights, but his tone is fairly flat. ]
Action;
[[Now she kind of glances up at him.]]
...Though I don't find myself minding it all that much.
Action;
[ That was dry, amused, and he drops the leaf to glance back at her. ]
Action;
Or perhaps you wouldn't.
[[And a smirk accompanies that.]]
There is, after all, a block function on the Pokegear, and I am now very well versed in using it.
Action;
[ He's relaxing again, looking amused without really smiling. ]
Action;
He won't.
Action;
You're kidding, right? Bros before hos, sis. Besides, he's my forevergirl.
Action;
He has yet to betray my trust. Besides, I somehow doubt he would be so easily willing to repeat the utterly despicable language that would be used.
Action;
You do realize 'bros before hos' is a universal law, right? Like the sun rising in the east, or Scully never believing Mulder.
Action;
Perhaps you'll find yourself surprised. I dare you to try.
Action;

Action;
Though it would have to be ironic as I've yet to hear of any younger sisters of his...other than technically myself I guess.
Action;
Far as I can tell, being an older brother's basically the same thing, whether your kid sibling's a brother or a sister.
Action;
Action;
Didn't think you'd appreciate it, but I could teach you swordplay.
Action;
Unless you think sticks would be an acceptable replacement.
Would you want to be taught something in return, perhaps? I've nothing as impressive as swordplay to my name, but...I could teach you the violin. [[A small shrug.]]
After all, I don't know where you can arrest yourself a pair of turntables here.
