Chapter 26; Video/Filtered Text to Karkat

[[Rose has been a little bit of a busy bee since arriving in Goldenrod. From shopping to studying more on Lugia (after spotting it in it's flight around Johto), to -- apparently evolving Cocoa. The video is focused on an extremely excited Leafeon, who is looking every which way at all the new sights and sounds.]]

Meet Cocoa. I had learned of new evolutionary stones having been stocked in Goldenrod's Department Store, and that two of them were meant for Eevee. The Mossy Rock produces this little guy - Leafeon. He's of the Grass type, if that were not obvious.

[[The camera moves from him just as he pounces Guile from behind to focus on a badge in her hand. The Azalea badge, to be precise.]]

My first, and likely last badge. I challenged the gym just before we left Azalea. Bugsy's Scisor was quite difficult, however I managed.

[[And now the view is focused on herself.]]

Dave, you will be quite pleased to know that Goldenrod is everything that had been described. Those of you left in Azalea will also be pleased to know this, but you are able to find out for yourself upon arrival.

I also have a question.

[[Reaching off screen, she brings back and shows the screen a page in one of her notebooks. She seems to have sketched Lugia (it isn't the best, but you can at least mildly make out what it's supposed to be if you've seen the legendary).]]

Did anyone else spot this Pokemon flying about? And would anyone happen to know anything about it?

[[Setting the journal back down, she ends the feed there, before starting up a private one.]]

[Filtered to Karkat.]

How are you fairing, Karkat, and how do you like the city so far?
If you weren't too busy, I was hoping that perhaps you and I could go do something together.
I found a rather extensive video store that I thought you might enjoy browsing.
And if you wanted, perhaps I could take you out to lunch or dinner?
Whichever would suit your fancy better.

((OOC: Yes, the badge is indeed mod approved. :3))

Is Leafeon any good? I don't have any grass pokemon yet and I still don't know what to do with my Eevee.

I didn't know there was anything flying around, either. What does it look like?

[identity profile] usedtherapy.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
It seems fair so far. I've used it in a few bouts, and he made quick work of his opponents. They seem to be more of a physical attacker than anything. High attack, high defense. A fair choice.

I am going to go out on a limb and say the second rock produces an Ice type, being that it is an Icy Rock. So that may also be a choice. Have you looked into the original five types that were available?

As for what Lugia looks like...It has a long body, it's neck and tail making up for most of it. It's white, the accents it possesses being...well, from what it looked like, a dark blue or purple perhaps. A smaller, teardrop shaped head, legs similar to that of a dog or cat perhaps... And long wings, though not feathered typical to birds. It looked more as if it had hands.

[identity profile] p2iioniichacker.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I already looked at all the other choices. I already have fire, water, dark, and psychic pokemon though, so Jolteon was really the only one I was thinking about at all. I just thought if there were others that might be good I'd think about them, too.

That does actually sound pretty cool looking. That's weird that it's just flying around like that, though.

[identity profile] usedtherapy.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
And if you were interested in an electric Pokemon, Mareep is always a choice as well. Or was. I'm unsure as to if they can be caught around Goldenrod.

However, yes, it would likely be good to consider them as well. I will be doing my best to research these two new ones, and would be glad to share the information with you if you'd like.

And it kind of is, yes, and I do wonder what is causing it to fly around like that.

[identity profile] p2iioniichacker.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
If you would, that would be great. Although I haven't really been using her any more so maybe it doesn't matter as much, but it would still be good to evolve my Eevee into something useful.

Well, if you find anything out make sure you let me out. I know you're pretty great at getting answers out of people.

[identity profile] usedtherapy.livejournal.com 2011-06-05 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
It would indeed. If nothing else, to at least have that type on hand to train if needed. And while we are in Goldenrod, you have access to all the necessary evolution stones, so doing it now if you are going to go with one of those would be most ideal.

I will do just that, and I'm flattered you'd think such a thing. Hopefully I will be able to obtain the right answers.

[identity profile] p2iioniichacker.livejournal.com 2011-06-05 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it could be useful to have other types on my team just in case I need them, that's why I'm not going to bother evolving her into the dark, water, or psychic type ones. I was pretty sure about electric before, but now that these are choices I'm not sure anymore.

Ehehe, I don't really see why anyone wouldn't think that about you when it's true.

[identity profile] usedtherapy.livejournal.com 2011-06-06 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Well we both certainly have time to research more on these two new types. If you're in need of an Electric type, I have Halos in which I can breed. He's an Ampharos - which evolved from a Mareep, if you happen to know the Sheep Pokemon - and is a very good addition to my team.

I'm glad you've such faith in my abilities, Sollux.

[identity profile] p2iioniichacker.livejournal.com 2011-06-06 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure if I need an electric pokemon or not, but I'll keep it in mind. I think my team is actually pretty well balanced as is though. And they're definitely high enough in level to take care of just about everything, ehehe.

Heh, well, you're welcome then. I think that's why you and KK work so well together, he's good at leading but doesn't always think things through or anything.

[identity profile] usedtherapy.livejournal.com 2011-06-06 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
The offer will always stand, so if you do change your mind. And that's good to hear. Both the balance and the levels. Though that does make the gyms less of a challenge, doesn't it?

...Likely, yes. We're working on that though...when he is not being a stubborn pain the nook, of course.

[identity profile] p2iioniichacker.livejournal.com 2011-06-06 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Ehehe, it might be less of a challenge but it's hilarious to completely own everyone I run into.

Are you sure we're talking about the same KK here? He's always a pain in the nook.

[identity profile] usedtherapy.livejournal.com 2011-06-06 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
I can only imagine their reactions. I believe I might finally be approaching levels in which I am able to do the same.

It depends. When he is placated by romcoms, he can really be quite pleasant. Or Chinese food.

[identity profile] p2iioniichacker.livejournal.com 2011-06-06 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's seriously the best. You need to do it once you're high enough in level. It's gonna be the best when I go back to Violet to beat the gym leader.

Chinese food? That's one of your human things, right? I'm surprised he actually likes it.

[identity profile] usedtherapy.livejournal.com 2011-06-07 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I have yet to defeat the Violet leader as well. Perhaps we can go together then, and clean the floor with him at the same time.

[[Chuckling, she nods, then remembers he can't exactly see that.]]

It is indeed, and I was a little surprised too. I simply brought it home one day to help make up a little for the fact he was letting me stay with him to try, and he found it decent enough. Enough to enjoy having it once or twice a week at least.

[identity profile] p2iioniichacker.livejournal.com 2011-06-07 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Ehehe, if you really wanna come back with me that'd be great. I'm thinking of doing it as soon as I've beaten the one here, just to get it done with. We have to do it fast though, I really don't wanna stay in Violet ever again.

That is pretty amazing, with how much he complains about humans and this place and just about everything else.

[identity profile] dead-black-eyes.livejournal.com 2011-05-27 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Many individuals have had evolutions occur lately.

Are you implying that you have secured all the badges? You said that it is "likely" your last, without further clarifying elaboration.

[identity profile] usedtherapy.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
As I've noticed. Perhaps it is just that time of the season?

[[Chuckling, she shakes her head.]]

It is actually that I have little interest in collecting the badges. I merely challenged the gym to perhaps alleviate a bit of tension I was feeling that day. Whether I would win or not was of little matter.

[identity profile] dead-black-eyes.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you think it's really seasonal?

[He seems genuinely interested in what Rose thinks of this.]

I've been here since March, and I have yet to collect a single one. I feel similarly; it just doesn't interest me. If it alleviates tension, though... perhaps I should consider looking into it.

[identity profile] usedtherapy.livejournal.com 2011-05-30 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
It's certainly a possibility. The weather recently, as opposed to the horrendous conditions I've experienced in the past here, encourages me - at the very least - to go outside and train. And of course training leads to evolution for most Pokemon.

It was quite useful for such for me. The battle was thrilling, and the feeling of accomplishment afterward was rewarding.
