Chapter 10; Action/Voice for Karkat, John and Jade

[What happened]

[[She certainly didn't mind his company, as much as she bickered with him when he insisted upon taking care of her, and insisted upon making sure she was comfortable, and insisted upon getting her more blankets, knowing she would want them. As much as she argued she didn't need the help, she did appreciate it.

And so, even though the subject struck up yet more sibling snark-ery, she appreciated him offering to make her soup.

Still had a hard time expressing it though.]]

Dave, I do not care how delicious you claim it tastes. I do not care how insistent you are upon the fact it is good for me. I do not want soup.

[[He just laughed at her, and that simply annoyed her more.]]

Relax Rosie. You're not getting any better by throwing a fit.

[[Looking away with a snort, the girl glowered at the window. When a spoon clattered from being dropped, she thought nothing of it.]]

Would you please refrain from making a mess, I would really hate to--

[[Cut off by the sound of something far bigger slamming into the stove finally forced her to turn her glare towards the kitchen.

Which Dave was currently occupying the floor of.]]

...D-Dave?

[[Unfurling and scrambling from her nest, she quickly crossed the hotel room and stared down at the boy a moment, before bending down to carefully touch his forehead - which judging from how red the skin was and how it was already starting to bruise, that must have been what she heard colliding with the stove.

Carefully she shook him by his shoulders.]]

If you are trying to tease me to force some form of sincere affection from me, th-there are better ways to go about that. This is unacceptable, and I will not stand for it, so I request you sit up and cease this tom-foolery.

[Voice for Karkat]

[[When Karkat answers, he is greeted by Rose, who definitely does not sound as put-together as usual. She's not in a panic, but her voice is shaking a little.]]

K-karkat. I require your presence immediately. Dave just collapsed, and I am unsure of what to do about i-it. I am unable to move him on my own, and am fairly certain we should not leave him on my kitchen floor.

[Text for John and Jade]

[[A text is also sent to John and Jade, as Rose is aware they would both want to know.]]

John, Jade, I would like to inform you that Dave, currently, is passed out on my kitchen floor.
I am having Karkat come over to help, and fear having more than him and I might make this complicated as it is a fairly small kitchen and room, so please do not worry about assisting.
I simply felt you would both like to know.

[Karkat steps on inside, locking the door after John slips out. His stuff he dumps to the side - he'll put it somewhere better once John's back, and the chair's blocking it again.]

Man, putting up with him being here too is going to be a pain.

Perhaps it will help you in your quest of not hating him as much?

[[Rose is simply leaning against the arm of the couch that is facing the door, and therefor Karkat, bowl of soup in hand.]]

A 'bonding' experience, if you will.

I believe I must agree with you on these points. Simply recalling the trip is causing my head to ache. Gamzee was not so bad. I was surprised, from what I had heard and experienced myself, I was expecting a far more difficult time with him. However, Aradia did a wonderful job as his travel partner.

[[Gritting her teeth, she rubs at a temple.]]

Eridan however...how do you put up with him? No offense meant, but I apologize. He was so...whiny. He had a need to complain about everything.

Gamzee's mostly just stupid, forgetful, and high off his ass.

It's me again. But since I'm sure that won't be enough to convince you so...Rose: on Valentine's Day you came over for a visit but I was passed out on the couch because Slimer switched my cough medicines.

Oh! And Jade's with me now too, do you need to test her too or is my word that it's actually Jade good enough?

Hi, Rose! Um... If you need to "test" me too, that's fine! [She sounds a little confused as to why that would be necessary, though...]

[[Oh, interruption, and just when she was about to get into some deep feelings of ~loathing~ too. Oh well. Though she keeps her gaze trained on Karkat at the suggestion of testing Jade.]]

That is most certainly John. Do we trust his word and let them both in, though? Part of me says that is Jade, but...

[Karkat blinks, glancing to Rose, then back at the door.]

If you say that's John, then it's probably Jade too.

[And so, he unlocks and opens the door.]

[True to his word, it is indeed Jade who is with him! Not only that but he brought Casey back with him as well. ~~Because like hell is he leaving her in that room alone for a week. That past hour or so was torture enough.~~ He lets Jade enter the room first, as that is the ~polite~ thing to do and waits for Karkat to close the door so they can move the chair again.]

[Jade has a whole bunch of stuff with her. Yep, there will be ~*sleepover time*~. But that's not too important at this very moment.]

So, um... What's going on with Dave now?

[[While not having bothered with helping Karkat or John, Rose quite happily gets up to help Jade with her collection of necessities, offering to take a few items.]]

From what we've learned, he is simply asleep. It is apparently somewhat common for those who aren't from Johto. He will supposedly wake within a week.

[Sigh, again. Karkat just closes the door, locks it, and goes to move the chair.] John, help me with this again.

This is just turning into some bullshit sleepover. A slumbullshit party. Are we hoping the irony of the four of us sharing a damn hotel room is going to wake Dave like a siren song to coolkids, if the song were all the screaming I'm bound to do from having to put up with this?

[He puts Casey down in order to assist in moving the chair and she immediately scampers over to Jade and Rose to go see what they're doing, because it has to be more interesting than moving a chair. That's boring.]

I don't know, Karkat. But are you going to complain if somehow that does work?

[Jade gladly accepts Rose's help because holy crap, this is a lot of stuff.]

I get the feeling that he will...

Fear not, Karkat. I do not plan on allowing it to turn into a slumber party. Jade is just as much Dave's friend as the three of us are, and therefor has just as much right to be here. Any help we are able to garner does not hurt either, all things taken into consideration.

[[Just putting that stuff in it's appropriate place now, pausing to give Casey an affectionate ear ruffle.]]

I do not know if I am feeling up to any ridiculous sleepover shenanigans anyway, so if we can avoid such things that would be superb.

... I guess not. [And now moving his stuff a bit, since just leaving it by the door isn't good.]

The only thing I wouldn't mind is movies, but the fuck the rest of that shit. And did you really have to bring your damn rabbit, John? Put her in a Pokéball or something; I'm keeping mine in there.

[Lastly, he turns to Jade.]

Since I don't know if John gave you the rundown - whatever you do, don't tell Dave's brother what happened. None of us trust him. Second off, if one of us leaves to go do something, when we return, ask us something only we would know to confirm that it's really us. Dave used voice clips to mimic Terezi once, so I wouldn't put it past that fucked up brother of his. Third, keep the door locked and blocked with the chair. Keep the windows locked, too.

[Karkat, John is giving you a look that clearly suggests that he doubts your sanity. You did not just say that. You seriously did not just suggest that he put dear, sweet Casey into a pokéball.]

Yes I did, there was no way I was going to leave her in that room alone.

[Had he put out food for Dave's pokemon like Rose said, she wouldn't have been alone. But he had decided against it, instead putting them all in their balls and bringing them with him. ~~He didn't like the idea of leaving Dave's balls unprotected.~~]

Let us get you settled in, Jade. We should probably consider something to eat after that, and then sleeping arrangements are in order.

We will also need to decide on a sleeping schedule, so that at least one person is awake at all times.

Then can't you put your damn bunny back in the ball? [A bit of a disapproving look is aimed Casey's way. He's not a bunny fan.]

At least you get what you're supposed to do, Jade. As far as sleeping goes--I'll take the night shift. Trolls are meant to be nocturnal anyway.
