Chapter 48; Video; Possession is fun kids!

[[When the feed starts, there is a very tearful looking Rose on the screen. She looks like she's just about ready to start bawling, hiccuping once in a while. For a moment she just stares, and then she explains what's wrong.]]

Someone. Someone help. I...I'm...I'm really scared.

[[Suddenly the video shifts, showing the edge of a bed and then kiiiind of leaning over the edge to show the floor.]]

I-I think something is under my bed. And if I get down it'll get me!

[[And there are a few sobs, though they're off camera. She is just so scared.]]

Wh-what if it's the boogeyman?! O-or a zombie or something?!

[[And the more things she suggest, the more hysterical she becomes until finally she's wailing, the gear dropping to the bed and being turned off as a result.

If you're feeling like this is not the Rose you know, you're pretty close. She's still Rose, she's simply been possessed by a Yamask.

Peering out from under her blankets, she kind of watches him and the Shuppet before sitting up a little and poking her head out now. The Pokemon in question is just snuggling against Dave still before trying to squiggle its way down his shirt.]]

[What. It's trying to what. He's staying still as possible to show it's no threat. But the look on his face right now. It's a mixture of 'what the fuck' and 'I'm being touched in a bad place'. Well, Dave's version of it. But despite that (he will freak out later) he manages not to scream. (but later he will weep)]

No clue. I think it likes me??

[[Dave, it just wants to love you.

Rose still seems skeptical, but she inches toward the edge of the bed again. Still won't put her legs down or even dangle them over the side, but she wants to kind of...maybe touch it????]]

Bet it will like you too. It wanted in your sock. [He is in no way trying to get it to stop trying to climb down his shirt. God why. This is the weirdest feeling ever and he's been in a lot of ~~harrowing~~ weird situations.]

[[She's still so unsure, but once her hand gets close enough it abandons him and starts rubbing into her hand.

To which she pulls it back quickly, startled.

To which it follows, pressing against her cheek.

To which she starts whimpering and trying to get away from it.

Dave surely you can see where this is going.]]

Why is his life this never ending series of bad decisions and failure. Dave sits on the edge of the bed reaches out to coax the Shuppet back to him. ....God, he even makes a little come here noise to it. Scratching right under...well he thinks it's a chin??]

[[And oh my god that Shuppet comes back. Because he's paying attention to him and she's not and that's wonderful. Hi there mister Dave, he's going to nestle right into your hair.

Peering over at the two of them, meanwhile, Rose kind of...sits back up straight and watches with a sniffle.]]

I-it's scary. Ghost Pokemon are scary.

Dude it looks like uh, a doily. Or those little paper ghosts. I think it just wants tlc. It's ok. [Hearing Rose say the ghosts are scary makes his brain fry. His sister who told him to take off his shades to talk to the contents eldrich red lobster. He can still think about it and his nightmares are ten times worse.]

[[She eyes the two of them, then shrinks behind her blanket a little, voice dropping to a mumble.]]

I don't like paper ghosts either.

Then what do you like? [He's curious now seeing as his sister is off the deep end somehow.]

...um. I like...Skitties and Bunearies because they're really cute. And I love Ponyta because ponies are really pretty! And it evolves into a unicorn! [[You asked, Dave. Enjoy the wonder that is a five year old brain. At least she doesn't seem scared out of her wits though.]]

[He just. Wow. Dave reaches out with one hand.] If you give me back the pokeball I can show you a Ponyta. Lady B's pretty friendly and I know she thinks you're cool.

You would show me your Ponyta? [[Look at those eyes light up.]] Okay! [[Here you go Dave, you can have your Pokeball back. Your Pokeball and her rapt attention.]]
