As I see it is that time again in Johto, I would like to make a general "Welcome to the magical world of Pokemon" statement to all new comers. I'm Rose, and if I have not personally introduced myself yet, my apologies.

I would just like to offer my knowledge to you all, especially those of you who are breeders. I'm no expert, but I have gathered many notes over my time here and I always want to share this knowledge.

For those of you with no interest in that, I do still want to talk to you! About what, you ask? Just you.

Hi, how are you? Have we met before? How has your day been going? Or your stay in Johto? It may seem silly to ask this of complete strangers, but I'm genuinely interested.

It's been a little while since we've heard a location update from you, and while I try not to be nosy I do like knowing where you are.

Well it says breeder but ew?

It isn't quite as bad as it may sound. Unless the idea of leaving two Pokemon in a room together and returning to eggs is still a little on the ew side.

Could be worse.

It could, you're right. That's a good way to look at it. Did you have any questions I could answer for you?

Hmmm. Are we supposed to, uh, you know. Breed them? Is that, like, the only thing?

Generally. I like the idea that we're attempting to better the pool of Pokemon available to trainers, but there's no specific description of our job.

How do you tell the difference between a boy and a girl?

[ he hasn't checked for his Swablu, oops? ]

Oh. Well sometimes you're able to tell by looking at them. Take Meganium for instance. Meganium have antennae on their head. The antennae on a male are longer than the ones on a female. Female Pikachu have notched tails.

For those that don't have a physical difference like that, your Pokegear should be able to tell you.

Some, however, are genderless. Like Porygon or Golett.

Where is the Gear supposed to tell me that? Or does Swablu have differences like Pikachu and Meganium?

My Pokedex informs me of that with Pokemon I own. And I don't believe Swablu does. I could be wrong though, as I've only ever had experience with a female.

Oh. Heh heh. I guess I wasn't looking hard enough.

That's alright. I missed it for a little while too.
